Good Friday Services at Faith Church – April 18
Join us at Faith Church in Terre Haute this Good Friday, April 18, for a powerful and reflective time of worship as we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
We will hold two Tenebrae services at 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM. Each service will include Holy Communion, open to all who wish to participate.
What is Tenebrae?
Tenebrae (Latin for “darkness” or “shadows”) is a traditional Christian service held during Holy Week. Through Scripture readings, candles, and music, the service walks us through the final hours of Jesus’ life. As the service progresses, the sanctuary gradually darkens, symbolizing the growing sorrow and grief of Jesus’ death. It’s a powerful experience of reflection, silence, and worship.
What is Communion?
Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is a sacred time when believers remember Jesus’ sacrifice through the sharing of bread and juice, representing His body and blood. It’s a moment to reflect on His love, grace, and the forgiveness He offers us all.
Open Prayer Time – Noon to 4 PM
The church doors will also be open from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM for anyone who would like to come and spend time in quiet prayer and reflection.
Let this Good Friday be a time of deep meaning and spiritual renewal.
