Meet Our Lead Pastor

Pastor Steve Sanchez

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, where I met my wife Jennifer. We have two boys,  Ezra (11) and Silas (9). I have served in ministry for 23 years in New Mexico, Texas, Oregon, and California. I have studied at the University of New Mexico, Nazarene Bible College, and Wesley Biblical Seminary.

The consistent description of my ministry is to communicate the Gospel in a manner that  people can readily understand it. This makes the Bible accessible, as it empowers and enables  the listener to apply what they hear. This application of God’s Word is the Great Commission!  Discipleship and accountability are vital components to building the Church of Jesus Christ.  Through teaching, modeling, and equipping, our ministry emboldens believers to be effective  soul-winners and disciplers for Christ!

My favorite Scripture passage is 2 Peter 1:3-4: “His divine power has given us everything we  need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and  goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that  through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world  caused by evil desires.”

My favorite sports teams are the Dodgers (baseball), Alabama (college football), New Mexico  (college basketball), and, if they stand for our National Anthem, the Dallas Cowboys. I am also  a Desert Storm Veteran who served in the United States Air Force. I love my country and am grateful for the opportunity to serve.

In my leisure time, I love spending time with my family. We enjoy dining in a new restaurant,  going to a movie, browsing antique stores or farmers’ markets, playing golf together, or just  hanging out at the house. I love a good cup of coffee and a fresh blueberry muffin/scone.

Above all, I am grateful for the Lord’s kindness in all these areas of life. He has preserved and  protected me. For all that He has given to me, I look forward to many more years of service to Him.
