Good Friday Services

Join us at Faith Church for a Tenebrae Good Friday service, a meaningful and reflective time as we remember the suffering and sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
“Tenebrae” is a Latin word meaning darkness, and the service follows a powerful tradition that guides worshippers step by step through the events leading to the cross. Through Scripture readings, prayer, and quiet moments of worship, we reflect on the depth of Christ’s love and the price that was paid for our redemption.
During the service, candles are gradually extinguished as the room grows darker. This visual experience represents the weight of sin and the sorrow surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus. The quiet and reflective atmosphere creates space for personal reflection, gratitude, and renewed appreciation for the sacrifice that makes Easter possible.
Tenebrae prepares our hearts for the hope and victory we celebrate on Easter Sunday.
We invite anyone in the Terre Haute community who is seeking a deeper understanding of the meaning of Good Friday to join us for this powerful evening of Scripture, worship, and reflection.
